PERSONAL STATEMENT
PERSONAL STATEMENT Since childhood, I knew that I was going to devote my life to the arts. In the few times in life that I drifted from my path as an artist, art always beckoned me back. Ultimately, becoming the constant passion driving me to explore the world with creativity, compassion, and endurance.
As I grew from a child to a young woman, I experienced challenges, tribulations, and connections meant to mold me into the person I am today and the person I’m yet to become. Each ordeal further shaped me as an artist, often providing fresh inspiration or exposure to the unknown. Painting has become my essential outlet and my biggest advocate.
As a young adult, I’ve made it a point to use my artistic abilities with others in hopes to enlighten, motivate, and inspire. I’ve worked with special needs populations, including traumatic brain injuries and autism, often incorporating art and vocational elements.

MEDIUM | Over the years, I’ve dabbled in almost every medium, but none have quite captured me like acrylic on traditional stretched canvas. I’ve always been very fond of acrylic’s quick drying time, allowing me to layer enough to meet my (ever changing) signature style. In every painting, I've aimed to merge abstract components with realism.
Since I can remember, I've been very fond of leaving traces of the multiple colors, layers, and brush strokes used to create a piece. I can do this best using acrylic. I’ll be honest, recently I’ve contemplated reintroducing myself with oil painting due to the clashing with acrylic’s dry time.
I've shifted my perspective, leading me to desire a more realistic appeal with less abstract components normally used within a piece, which requires a larger work period.
